Can you believe that a pig can suffer leg paralysis after biting its tail? Of course, not all pigs bitten end up paralyzed, but only very few do. Treatment involves injecting nitrofurazone on one side and vitamin B1 on the other, or diluting penicillin with dexamethasone and administering vitamin B1 on the other side.
During the usual pig farming process, if a pig is bitten, it should be promptly treated instead of being neglected. The injured pig should be kept separately. The bitten area should be treated with iodine tincture or gentian violet.
